Best Event Ticketing Platforms in India (2026): Fees Compared Honestly

What to compare when you pick a ticketing platform in India in 2026: UPI, payouts in rupees, QR check-in, and who keeps the guest list.

Tunyt Team··4 min read

“Best ticketing platform” lists usually invent a fee table and declare a winner. Fees change, plans differ by event size, and a number copied from a 2024 screenshot is how organizers get surprised on payout day. This page will not do that.

What it will do is show you the comparison that matters in India in 2026, state Tunyt’s defaults from the product itself, and tell you which questions to ask every other platform before you move your fest onto it.

The only comparison that changes your payout

Score each platform on these, in this order.

1. Can your guest finish payment on a phone in India?

UPI is the default for students and most city meetups. Cards matter. A checkout that assumes a US card does not.

2. What is deducted, and who pays it?

Ask for three lines, in writing: platform fee, payment-gateway fee, and GST. Ask whether they come out of your ticket price or get added on top for the buyer. “Zero convenience fee” can still mean the fee comes out of your side.

3. Do you get INR in an Indian account?

A tool can look international and still be a poor fit if the payout is in dollars, needs a foreign entity, or takes weeks. Ask when the money moves and what the minimum is.

4. Does check-in work at your gate?

A CSV you download in the morning is not check-in. You want a unique QR per person and a scan that rejects a second use. See QR code tickets and event check-in.

5. Do you keep the audience?

After the event you should be able to export the people who came. If the platform’s business is reselling your audience, read that twice.

What organizers in India are usually choosing between

These are categories, not a ranking. Read the current pricing page of whichever one you shortlist. Do not trust a blog — including this one — for another company’s rate.

  • International event pages such as Eventbrite or Luma. Strong when your audience is already there or your event is global. Weak when the question is UPI and an Indian payout. Luma is covered directly in Luma vs Tunyt.
  • India-first ticketing tools built for college fests, workshops and concerts. This is the category Tunyt is in. The test is still the five questions above, not the logo.
  • Box-office partners that also do offline sales. Useful for a large public concert. Heavy for a society fest or a Sunday run club.
  • A payment link plus a spreadsheet. Razorpay, Instamojo or a personal UPI ID can collect money. They do not issue a scannable ticket or stop a duplicate entry. Fine for a 15-person dinner. Fragile for a fest gate.

Tunyt’s defaults, stated plainly

These are the defaults in Tunyt’s ticket pricing, not a limited-time offer.

  • Free events are not charged a platform fee.
  • On a paid ticket, the default platform fee is 2.5% of the ticket face.
  • The payment gateway is Razorpay. Its fee on the ticket also defaults to 2.5%.
  • GST is 18% of the platform fee, not 18% of the ticket price.
  • Per ticket type, the host or the buyer can bear the fees.
  • A flat platform fee, if you set one, replaces the percentage and is taken from the host’s side.
  • Guests can pay with the methods Razorpay offers, including UPI.
  • Each paid registration can carry a QR ticket your team scans at the door.
  • Payouts are in rupees to the host. Confirm the schedule in your payout settings before you promise a sponsor a date.

If a comparison article quotes a different Tunyt percentage, it is out of date or it is inventing one. The live ticket you create shows the fees that apply to that event.

How to run the comparison in an hour

  • Write your real case: free RSVP, a Rs. 299 workshop, or a fest pass. One case, not five.
  • On each platform, start creating that event until you hit the fee screen. Screenshot it.
  • Buy one ticket with your own UPI ID. Time how long until the QR or confirmation arrives.
  • Ask support, in writing: payout currency, payout timing, and what a refund does to fees.
  • Throw away any option that cannot show you a check-in scan.

The longer version of the money path is how to sell event tickets online in India. If you are pricing tiers, read early-bird tickets before you publish three prices you cannot explain.

Create the event and read the fee lines on the ticket you are about to sell. That number beats any roundup.
