Payments & Payouts Policy
Effective Date: July 20, 2026
1. Platform Payment Models
tunyt operates on a hybrid financial architecture, providing two distinct processing models for Event Organizers:
- SaaS Model (Organizer Gateway): The Organizer integrates their own third-party payment gateway. The Organizer acts as the sole Merchant of Record (MoR). All ticket funds flow directly to the Organizer, who retains full liability for chargebacks, refunds, and compliance. tunyt strictly provides the software infrastructure.
- Marketplace Model (tunyt Payments): tunyt acts as the MoR. We collect funds from Attendees, deduct applicable fees, and disburse the net payout to the Organizer.
2. Fee Structure and Taxes
- Standard Platform Fee: Transactions processed via tunyt Payments are subject to a 5% Platform Fee. Organizers can configure the platform to absorb this fee or pass it on to the Attendee as a convenience charge.
- Operational Baseline: To maintain sustainable infrastructure and support, a baseline of $2 is claimed per user to break even on the operational costs of the transaction.
- Tax Liability: The Platform Fee is exclusive of applicable taxes (e.g., GST), which tunyt will calculate and collect on the fee itself. The Organizer remains solely and legally responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting all taxes related to the underlying ticket sales.
3. Payout Timelines and Eligibility
- Settlement Window: To protect against fraud and event cancellations, net funds are automatically disbursed to the Organizer's verified bank account within 48 hours after the Event officially ends.
- KYC Requirement: Payouts are strictly contingent upon the Organizer successfully completing tunyt's Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. Funds will only be routed to a bank account matching the verified legal identity of the Organizer.
4. Withheld Funds, Holds, and Chargebacks
tunyt reserves the unilateral right to freeze, delay, or indefinitely withhold payouts under the following conditions:
- Chargebacks & Disputes: If an Attendee initiates a chargeback, the Organizer holds full financial liability. tunyt may freeze pending payouts to cover contested amounts and bank penalties. Excessive chargebacks will result in immediate account termination.
- Risk & Compliance: Payouts will be withheld in cases of suspected fraud, identity theft, failure to maintain KYC compliance, or violations of the Terms of Service.
- Legal Directives: Funds will be frozen upon receipt of a subpoena, court order, or regulatory directive from financial authorities.
5. Future Financial Capabilities
This policy governs current operations and is designed to seamlessly scale with future platform updates, which will include international cross-border payouts, multi-currency processing, subscription billing plans, and the integration of additional localized digital wallets.
